Nepali footballers Sabitra and Anita drafted in Indian women’s league

KATHMANDU, April 29: Nepali women footballers Sabitra Bhandari and Anita Basnet have been drafted by Sethu Football Club of Tamil Nadu to play in the Indian women’s league.

The national players will fly to Tamil Nadu on Monday to sign the agreement. The club has yet to disclose how much Bhandari and Basnet will be paid. However, it has been reported that the Armed Police Force Club’s forwards will receive NRS 100,000 each.

They were also invited to play Maldives Futsal Fiesta with Maldives Police team in last year. Bhandari had scored 19 goals and Basnet had scored 11 goals in the competition. The team finished third.

The Hero Women’s League, which is in the third season, will kick off from May 5 and run till May 22.
