Coronavirus in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: A person has been found to have been infected from coronavirus in Nepal, confirmed the Ministry of Health.

The ministry, organizing a press conference, stated that a Nepali student from China’s Wuhan region was found infected with coronavirus, who was tested ‘positive’ after a lab test at the WHO Collaborating Center in Hong Kong.

The identity of the infected person has not been revealed but “is not free of virus and has been kept under close supervision”.

China has expanded a massive quarantine effort covering 13 cities to contain the deadly virus, with the death toll climbed to 26 since it was first reported on December 31 last year in Wuhan.

The United States has also confirmed its second case of SARS-like virus, according to reports.
