NC charting out strategy for parliamentary meeting

KATHMANDU, Aug 3: Main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has called its parliamentary party meeting to discuss the recent developments taking place in the Parliament of late.

At a meeting to be held at the NC parliamentary party office on Friday, matters related to the preparation of NC on its presentation in the Parliament shared NC Chief Whip Bal Krishna Khand.

It may be noted that the main opposition on last Thursday had boycotted the House of Representatives meeting citing its lawmakers were not provided time for questioning and grilling Ministers despite requests for the same.

The Speaker continued the parliamentary meeting even after NC boycott which the party has taken as a further serious matter.

The parliamentary party meeting will also discuss on the bills to be enacted by the Parliament for the implementation of constitutionally-guaranteed fundamental rights, Khand informed.

“We want the government to present the bills related to fundamental rights to the Parliament without any delay. NC is concentrated on the issue that the bills concerning the fundamental rights of the people should be endorsed by the parliament at the earliest”.

It is also shared that the meeting is set to discuss on the formation of the parliamentary committee.

The Thursday’s meeting of the parliament had endorsed the names of the parliamentarians to be included in different 10 thematic committees of the House of Representatives.
