Swiss govt. pledges to provide Rs 598.5m to Nepal



Kathmandu, April 29:  The Government of Switzerland has pledged to provide a total of CHF 5.7 million to Government of Nepal (GoN) to support in its earthquake reconstruction efforts through Decentralized Rural Infrastructure and Livelihood Project (DRILP) Phase III.

Embassy of Switzerland here in Nepal has issued the press statement on Friday, CHF 3.9 million  out of the total grant will be used as a technical assistance for reconstruction of approximately 450 kms of damaged roads in earthquake affected districts, while CHF 1.8 million will be used to rehabilitate 200 kms of damaged trails in Gorkha and Dolakha districts.

In addition, the Asian Development Bank will also contribute US $ 50 million (equivalent NPR. 5.25 billion) for the reconstruction of damaged roads through Emergency Earthquake Assistance Project (EEAP).
