UCPN (Maoist), NC clash at Chaurjahari in Rukum



Laxman KC, Rukum, Oct 31: UCPN (Maoist) has attacked the mass gathering of Nepali Congress (NC) in Chaurjahari of Rukum today afternoon.  According to NC Rukum, the cadres of the UCPN (Maoist) have attacked in the mass gathering at Chaurjahari of Bijeswari VDC in Rukum held as a part of election campaigning.
A media person, two policemen and a NC cadre were injured following a clash ensued between the UCPN (Maoist) and the NC cadres. The injured are-police sub-inspector Shailendra Sapkota, police  constable Purna Bahadur Khatri, NC cadre Nar Junga Oli and the Reporter of Radio Sanobheri Sher Prashad Dhakal. The injured are receiving medical treatment at a local hospital. The Police has fired two rounds of tear gas to take the situation under the control.
NC district committee member Khadak Dangi informed that Tarun Dal district committee member Janal Batha Magar was addressing a mass gathering organised in Rukum constituency No 2 for the election campaigning of NC candidate for the constituency Gopal Jung Shah when the Maoist cadres suddenly pelted stones towards the programme.
Dangi claimed that UCPN (Maoist) candidate Janardan Sharma has been attacking upon his party leaders and cadres deliberately after the latter sensed a defeat in the upcoming CA polls.
Earlier, three cadres of NC and CPN (UML) were injured following the attack of UCPN (Maoist) at Aathbiskot in Rukum.
