KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has ruled the possibility of a democratic constitution being drafted unless his party takes the leadership.
Speaking at the Reporters Club Nepal’s interaction program in Chitwan on Thursday, Koirala argued that the erstwhile Constituent Assembly had dissolved without drafting the constitution due to lack of NC’s leadership.
He claimed that the Nepalese people are in favor of his party’s leadership for the new CA and added that the party will emerge victorious with majority of seats.
On the occassion he called on to support his party’s candidates in the CA elections for democratic constitution, stability and development.
On a different note, Koirala ruled out factionalism within the party between him and senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba.
He said that the party leaders are united and are working for the upcoming CA elections unitedly.
