Khadka is presently himself serving jail term for  corruption and abuse of authority.

His statement came at a time when Nepali Congress had offered election ticket to his wife, Sheela Gautam, to contend from his constituency in Dang for the upcoming  Constituent Assembly election.

Khadka argued that the candidacy was against the principles laid down by B P Koirala and also expressed dissatisfaction over the procedures adopted by the party in nominating electoral candidates of the party.

The statement also sympathized with leaders and cadres who think they have been unjustly not picked up for the party’s direct electoral candidacy and urged them to struggle within party.
